About this site
Located in the Palmeraie, this museum is dedicated to Farid Belkahia (1934-2014), a major figure in 20th-century Moroccan art and former director of the Casablanca School of Fine Arts. A painter and sculptor, he was among the first to combine traditional materials — hide, copper, henna — with a resolutely contemporary approach, moving away from Western conventions to draw on Amazigh signs and symbols. The museum displays paintings, works on hide and archival pieces retracing this singular career, offering visitors an essential gateway into the history of modern Moroccan art, still too little known beyond the kingdom's borders.
