Palais El Badi

About this site

Built between 1578 and 1594 by Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur, El Badi — "the incomparable" — was once one of the most lavish palaces in the Islamic world. Its 360 rooms, looted in the 17th century, now leave behind spectacular ochre ruins that host the annual Folklore Festival.
